The starter battery is often referred to as the heart of the vehicle’s electrical system. It serves as an energy source and as a reservoir for electrical energy generated by the alternator.
The AGM (or Absorbent Glass Mat) starter battery is a particularly powerful battery type suited to vehicles equipped with a start-stop system and regenerative braking. They contain specially designed micro-glass fiber mats that are located between the battery’s lead plates and contain battery acid.
The battery warning light informs the driver of a possible battery malfunction. Other signs include poor engine-starting performance and visible damage to the battery housing.
